unique concepts in photography
in the Philadelphia
area
A&G's Picture This! was established and incorporated in 1993 by Alan Kravetz and Gene Hurwitz. The company has consistently grown since then, always striving to offer a quality product at a fair price. At this time we have several photographers available to meet the needs of our clients. All of these are experienced professionals. We also train assistants, so that they may gain valuable experience for the future.
Digital photography is available for $1000, which provides for up to 6 hours of
coverage by one photographer. Additional coverage is charged at the hourly rate
of $175. An assistant may be present at the discretion of the photographer. Additional photographers can be provided
at $50 per hour.
This base price includes high resolution images on disk and a proof
magazine. One photographer will normally produce about 300 or more final
images. The images will be logically sorted into folders, and files to
produce contact sheets will also be included. The proof magazine is a 10 x
13" bound booklet showing all your final images, 12 per page. It is
printed on professional quality photographic paper. Custom designed
covers are provided for both the DVD and the proof magazine.
Prices for prints and albums are listed below. Please note also that 35mm film coverage is still available. See below for details.
As always, reproduction rights for additional copies and enlargements are shared with you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Why did you change from the all-inclusive packages you always offered?
Our packages were designed for film photography. We would designate a certain number of film rolls for each event. Processing and printing produced "instant" packages that only needed to be inspected and placed in albums. Most of these packages contained 200-250 prints. With digital photography we usually shoot much more than this, and then edit down to about 300 final images. These images can be printed in many different ways. We do, however, continue to offer all-inclusive film packages.
2. Why do digital prices seem higher?
Digital photography transfers most of the editing and correcting processes from the printing stage to the studio providing the photography. This has necessitated the hiring of additional staff to complete these tasks in a timely manner, and it has doubled the amount of time required for every event. If each image is treated in the computer for only 1 minute, 300 images require 5 hours of computer time. Some images require several minutes, others require almost none.
3. Which is better, film or digital coverage?
Each has its advantages. Film produces the sharpest and most natural looking images out of the camera. It can record the full range of light to dark parts of a subject better than digital. Films also have specific looks and character. We always use a professional film that is optimized for portrait and event photography. Digital offers much more control by the photographer, both during and after the event. Instant feedback means that camera adjustments can be made as needed. Before printing, many further corrections can be performed, and special effects can be added if desired. Digital images often have a cleaner and richer look to them. It is also easier for our clients to share pictures online as well as in print, and creating additional copies of the image files helps to protect them from damage or loss.
